90 homes without hedges
The development of the area surrounding the closed Søagerskolen in Smørum will result in 90 homes without privet hedges. Instead, residents will enjoy shared kitchen gardens, a coworking space for home offices, and workshops for bicycle repairs.
The 90 homes will be distributed among townhouses in one and two levels, as well as smaller apartment buildings of varied sizes from 55-110 m2, making up a residential complex totaling 7,100 m2. The old gymnasium and playground will be preserved and incorporated into the construction, which will be open and inviting for residents and the rest of the town.
The new residential area, Søagerhusene, aims to create a neighborhood that embodies the values of “love” – generosity, decency, mutual respect, joy, and pride. These values will be incorporated into the homes and public spaces, resulting in a high quality of life for residents. The urban vision is to create a new neighborhood in Smørumnedre that is generous in relation to the surrounding town and invites people in through paths and with functions that everyone in town is welcome to use.
