Your new role

As a Senior Technical Due Diligence Expert in Sweco Energy, you will lead and manage multiple cross‑disciplinary due diligence assignments within the energy sector. Working closely with one of our senior experts, you will coordinate technical, environmental, and commercial inputs while acting as a trusted advisor to clients and investors. The role combines deep technical expertise with strong client interaction, project leadership, and contribution to strategic energy transactions supporting the green transition as well as supply security and sector coupling. You will work closely with our market manager and the department management to further develop and expand our services for pension funds, investors and developers.

Your responsibility:

  • Lead and deliver technical due diligence for investments, mergers, acquisitions, and financing of energy assets and portfolios with leading technical experts amongst Sweco’s 23.000 experts.
  • Review and assess technical, environmental, regulatory, and selected commercial and contractual documentation (e.g. designs, permits, EPC/O&M contracts, performance data)
  • Identify, assess, and communicate technical risks, opportunities, and value drivers
  • Analyze market developments and industry trends to support investment decisions
  • Prepare clear, decision-oriented due diligence reports and recommendations for senior management, investors, and lenders
  • Act as a trusted advisor in client meetings and presentations
  • Collaborate closely with legal, financial, and commercial advisors to ensure high-quality, integrated due diligence outcomes
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, investors, and key stakeholders
  • Contribute to business development, proposal work, and the continued growth of Sweco’s due diligence and advisory services
  • Support and mentor junior colleagues and contribute to knowledge sharing across the organization

We imagine that you:

  • Hold a master’s degree in engineering or finance, business administration, economics, or a related field
  • If your background is financial, you bring a significant and proven track record in managing, understanding, and critically assessing technical energy topics and assets
  • Have significant market experience with technical due diligence, M&A, project finance, or large-scale energy projects
  • Possess strong technical understanding of energy systems and infrastructure
  • Have a critical and analytical mindset, enabling you to identify key risks, inconsistencies, and value drivers
  • Are comfortable taking ownership of projects and managing multiple stakeholders in a transaction-driven environment
  • Are able to contribute to building and maintaining a pipeline of projects and helping grow the department
  • Have experience working with cross-border teams and the cultural and mental differences in teams composed of several nationalities
  • Have a strong motivation to work with the green transition and renewable energy
  • Are fully proficient in Danish and English, both written and spoken

You are a friendly and open-minded individual who pays attention to details and is curious enough to ask questions in order to understand and optimize. With an analytical mindset, you take pride in your work and are persistent in delivering solid analyses. You are comfortable negotiating and possess a genuine interest in the financial market and the green transition. You thrive in an international context and do have some international experience.
