Invitation to Offshore Wind Presentation and Workshop during WindEurope April 8 2025

A novel method that removes the need for an OSS also for a gigawatt offshore project

We invite you to join us for an engaging presentation and workshop where we will explore an innovative method that has the potential to significantly decrease the costs of offshore wind projects and simplify the permitting process.

Traditionally, offshore wind farms utilize 66kV cables that connect to an offshore substation (OSS), with 220kV export cables running to the shore. We are excited to discuss the possibility of employing 132kV cables that connect directly to shore, installed with 3 three phase cables in the same trench, which could eliminate the need for offshore platforms entirely also for gigawatt projects up to 100km from shore. This approach not only has the potential to significantly reduce CAPEX and OPEX but also simplifies the permitting process, making it easier to navigate regulatory challenges.

During the workshop, we will present the implications of this new approach and are eager to gather your thoughts and insights as we explore its potential benefits for the wider offshore community. Your feedback will be invaluable as we continue to refine this concept.
