OJ Rådgivende Ingeniører changes name to Sweco

Sweco and OJ Rådgivende Ingeniører are merging under the name of Sweco, and will thus become the market leader in construction.

Since the autumn of 2023, when Sweco acquired OJ Rådgivende Ingeniører, including OJ Brandrådgivning, the merger of the two companies have been well underway. The integration is progressing as planned, and therefore, it is now natural to unite our efforts under the name of Sweco.

This means that even more clients and business partner throughout Denmark will come across the name Sweco.

“We have spent time getting to know each other, moving under the same roof, working together on projects, and establishing a daily routine. In addition, the market has welcomed the news that we are joining forces very positively. That’s why it makes sense for us to go out as one single consultancy with the same name and show what we can do together,” says Lars Bork, Director of Building Eat.

An important, local consultancy

As a combined business, Sweco counts 855 skilled construction specialists across the country in Aalborg, Aarhus, Viborg, Vejle, Billund, Horsens, Esbjerg, Kolding, Silkeborg, Herning, Sønderborg, Odense, Roskilde, and Copenhagen.

Our strengthened construction business specializes in the classic engineering disciplines within construction, as well as expert consulting in areas such as developer consultancy, building design, construction management and occupational health and safety, energy and indoor climate, LCA and EPD, commissioning, as well as fire protection consulting.

“We are off to a great start with Sweco on our new and exciting endeavours. We complement each other extremely well both professionally and commercially, with a strong desire to be present locally in the same neighbourhoods as our clients. We will continue with this approach, just as we have done for the past 77 years in OJ Rådgivende Ingeniører. For this reason, we find it very natural to have our new daily routine as Sweco reflected in the name,” says Kenneth Thonsgaard, former partner and business manager at OJ Rådgivende Ingeniører, and current Director of Building West.

“Even though we’ve only been part of Sweco for a few months, we’re already experiencing the great opportunities of combining our expertise. Together, we have gained the necessary strength to offer a broader portfolio of services and expertise to our customers, enabling us to handle everything from small tasks to the largest and most complex projects in a cohesive and well-thought-out manner.”

Sweco in Denmark has 2,000 employees, offering a broad portfolio of architectural and engineering expertise in the fields of construction, architecture, infrastructure, transportation, water, environmental, geoengineering, urban planning, and digital solutions.
