Sweco is part of a new framework agreement with Danida Sustainable Infrastructure Finance

Sweco has won a new framework agreement with Danida Sustainable Infrastructure Finance funded by Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU). As technical advisor, Sweco will provide services within water, wastewater, energy, and climate having project sustainability as an integral part of the activities to be carried out.

Sweco Denmark has worked as technical advisor in developing countries all over the world for more than 40 years. The latest projects include a large-scale road building project in Nepal, a wastewater project in Pakistan and an urban development project in Mongolia.

Now, Sweco has signed a new four-year long framework agreement with Danida Sustainable Infrastructure Finance (DSIF) with a total value of 70 million Danish kroner.

”We are very pleased to be part of the new framework agreement with DSIF who is such an engaged client. DSIF is driven by strong values focused on making lasting sustainable impact through their projects and in promoting innovative solutions,” says Raquel Alvarez, Business Development and Project Manager in Sweco.

Holistic approach to sustainability

DSIF is a loan facility under IFU aiming to finance sustainable infrastructures in developing countries that can also contribute to the UN Sustainable Goals. Therefore, projects funded under the loan facility have a strong focus on sustainability in its many variations covering technical, environmental, political, economic, and social aspects.

The projects will be implemented in DSIF partner countries, which cover 19 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Under the previous framework agreement Sweco’s consortium provided services in Bolivia, Mali, and in Pakistan.
