Water, Energy and Industry

The green transition and necessary climate adaptation are catalysts for our consultancy

The green transformation and climate change adaptation are catalysts for our work and consultancy services in the field of water, energy and environment. The transition to a more sustainable society creates a flexible energy system with renewable energy sources, new links between classic energy sectors and a focus on natural and environmental solutions that increase biodiversity or otherwise add value to construction projects.

We have a strong team of specialists and consultants which enables us to deliver technical solutions and strategic consultancy based on our client’s needs. Clients benefit from our local presence throughout Denmark and the ability to draw on the expertise of international experts in Europe.

At Sweco, we know that a comprehensive approach to tasks and use of state-of-the-art digital tools and working methods add the most value to our projects. We have many years of experience with integrated consultancy and involve specialists, users and decision-makers to ensure high-quality projects.

Conversion from natural gas to wood chips

Skærbæk Power Station in Fredericia has been converted from natural gas to wood chips, and now has much greater flexibility in choice of fuel and operational efficiency. By exploiting Skærbæk Power Station’s facilities and excellent location, Sweco has been able to design a combined heat and power plant with a low construction cost, helping to ensure a low, stable heating price in the area.

Climate adaptation of Kolding City Park

We have advised Kolding Municipality on the climate adaptation of Kolding Bypark. The vision was to create climate-resilient solutions for managing surface water, with a focus on recreational amenities for citizens and users. Sweco acted as lead consultant from the concept phase through to commissioning of the park, including the implementation of an extensive stakeholder engagement process.
