Robotics - combining architecture and engineering

Robotics - combining architecture and engineering

7 november 2019
We have asked ODICO Construction Robotics to come to Sweco HQ in Ørestad and talk about their knowledge within robot technologies in regards of the building industry.

In this talk, CTO and co-founder of ODICO, Asbjørn Søndergaard, will take us through the journey of discovery, innovation and entrepreneurship, which has transformed robotic wire-cutting from an academic laboratory concept to a disruptive technology working at large scale, helping to realize iconic building projects such as Fjordenhus Kirk Kapital HQ by Studio Olafur Eliasson or the Opus Dubai Office Complex by Zaha Hadid Architects.

The talk will home in on recent developments in exploring the potential for wire-cutting to help realize shape and topology-optimized concrete designs in collaboration with global leaders in architectural design, as well as the break-through concept of a ‘Factory-on-the-Fly’ – a mobile, pop-up, formwork factory which brings cyber-physical manufacturing to a construction site near you.
