UN’s 17 Global Goals

What are the UN’s Global Goals, and when should they be achieved? The UN’s Global Goals, otherwise known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), are 17 concrete goals for a better world. They must be achieved by 2030.

It has never been more important that we stand together for joint climate action. Sweco’s goal is to be climate-neutral by 2040, and to lead the way in all the markets in which we operate.

The report ‘Make Global Goals Our Goals – 197 Danish indicators for a more sustainable world’, which Sweco has helped to prepare, has just been published.

At Sweco, we are actively working with the UN’s Global Goals, and as a consulting architectural and engineering firm, we know what it takes to create sustainable and future-proof solutions that will benefit the individual and society at large.

The way in which we design our towns and communities is very important for everything from job creation, health and well-being to peace of mind, protection from climate change and social inequality.

In December 2020, we unveiled a comprehensive reference work describing how we, as a consulting architectural and engineering firm, contribute to the development of the UN’s 17 Global Goals.

The publication is the result of months of mapping across Sweco Denmark, and highlights a total of 30 projects which all focus on sustainability. These projects are good and concrete examples of Sweco’s expertise and solutions.

We are incredibly proud to have contributed to this report, which was launched by Statistics Denmark and The 2030-Panel. This is an important piece of work that makes Denmark’s path towards a more sustainable society concrete and measurable.
