Close collaboration on a new school in Aarhus creates low-emission construction
Gellerup School is being built for DKK 310 million. Children and young people in Gellerup, Toveshøj and Bispehaven can look forward to a brand new three-track school with a fitness center and club environments.

Economics, architectural quality and sustainability
The task consists in getting economics, architectural quality and sustainability requirements to come together by looking at the entire project – from the production and transport of building materials, the material choices themselves and the construction process, operation and maintenance of the building to demolition.
The project is estimated to be able to achieve a level of approx. 7-8 kg. CO2e per m2 per year for the materials. It is both under the CO2 legal requirement, which comes into force on 1 January 2023, as well as the voluntary sustainability class. According to the plan, the project must be certified to DGNB Gold.
