Despite low prices on fossil energy there is still a global focus on future-proofing the energy system, increasing the use of waste heat and converting to biomass, wind and solar. Based on our customers' wants and needs Sweco's experts work on finding sustainable solutions from the earliest concepts to the final operation. We work with Asset Management using ISO55000 and we take pride in building solid plants where the result is a reliable, cost-effective and environmentally sustainable energy supply.

Power supply

The transition from power supply based on power stations and fossil fuels to systems based on various types of renewable energy – such as solar and wind power – imposes new demands on the electricity grid in many countries. Sweco has amassed knowledge and experience of this transformation of the electricity grid. Sweco helps transmission companies and distribution companies enlarge and rebuild their electricity grid to ensure that the supply of power from production to consumer continues to be efficient and reliable.

In addition, Sweco is deeply involved in the development of smart-grid solutions which help stabilise the electricity grid and are advantageous both financially and environmentally. Finally, Sweco can help render existing power plants more flexible so that varying consumption and renewable production can be balanced out on the grid.

Sweco can assist in:

  • Designing and upgrading the electricity grid to meet the latest requirements and conditions
  • Planning, operating and monitoring the electricity grid to obtain financial and environmental benefits
  • Creating a reliable, cost-effective and sustainable power supply
