Speed increase Ringsted - Odense

The project is an important part of the so-called “The one hour target” of the Danish railway and the first subtask includes an environmental impact assessment of whether a speed increase of up to 200 km /h leads to an EIA.

Description

In the second part of the project a definition phase report will be worked out, which forms the choice of solutions, for the further work in the program phase. 

The line is about 160 km long, including the Great Belt Link - and has to be designed for a speed of up to 200 km/h

The railway will be used by both passenger-  and freight trains, but after the opening of the Fehmarn Belt Link the number of freight trains will decrease.
