Sweco Architects designed and engineered the enlargement of PriceWaterhouseCoopers’ headquarters at Strandvejen 44, Hellerup.

The newly constructed building appears as a luminescent lighthouse and a distinctive finishing touch to the existing main building.  The nine-storey tower is 35 metres tall, housing course facilities, open-plan offices and, on the top floor, a lantern-like VIP meeting-room with panoramic views of Øresund Sound. A large reception area for customers and course participants is placed on the ground floor.

Sustainable measures were particularly important to the design, layout and arrangement. A continuous energy-efficient glass section on the north facade minimises the need for energy-intensive air conditioning. There is intelligent lighting throughout the building with specially designed luminaires in the way of low-energy tube lamps and LED.

The building is in dark-grey granite, architecturally interacting with the other additions to the main building where a large solar-cell system, covering 100 m², is integrated into the roof. Inside, eco-friendly materials have been used to enhance the indoor climate.
