Clarion Hotel Arlanda Stockholm

A hotel with 414 rooms and a large conference centre in Arlanda Airport, directly connected to SkyCity and the terminals. The hotel has become a new landmark at the airport. It is also an important part of the planned Airport City, along with several interconnected office buildings in a park-like setting.

Project: Clarion Hotel Arlanda Airport

Role: Lead consultant, architect

Size: 30,000 m²

Location: Stockholm

Client: Swedavia

Lead architects: Anders Erikols and Jan-Ove Fogelberg

Sweco Architects designed and engineered Clarion Hotel Arlanda Airport as a first-class airport hotel and the airport’s new landmark.

The hotel has 414 rooms and flexible facilities for meetings, conferences, events, congresses and various activities. The hotel building is directly linked to the terminal system via a connection with shops and cafés.

In the overall architectural composition work has been done to balance the building’s tall slender “discs” with hotel rooms and the low solid base with conference facilities, shops and cafés. The varying building heights fit well into the airport’s existing architecture while giving the site an independent identity at the same time.

The building also has function rooms seating up to 900, a sky bar, a restaurant seating 450, and a wellness and outdoor pool area with steam bath, sauna and relaxation areas.
